Would appreciate it if someone could tell me what the deal is with e-mail disclaimers? How do you assess if you really need one? What relevance (if any) does it have with security mangement - or am I just confusing myself??

I would suggest that this is something driven more from your companies legal department that IT Security. If it does come out of the IT Security group, you would still need to confer with the legal department to make sure that the wording cannot be misconstrued. I recall hearing of a case (sorry - no reference) where a company had "Welcome to our Telnet Server" on their banners...the disclaimer which was also included was deemed inneffective as the initial banner implied "use me and abuse me". _________________ Cheers,
