Thanks in advance.

Hi,

They are the same - just changed the name to fit in with the 27000 family.
17799 was updated in 2005 - which was around the same time ISO27001 came about, but for some reason didn't change the name at that time.
Both ISO 17799:2005 and ISO 27002 are valid.

Hi Vonnie,

Firstly thanks for replying.

You right, 17799:2005 is the same as 27002

The thing i would like to know is:

What are the differences between 17799:2001 and 27002, or if you prefer 17799:2001 and 17799:2005

I understand there were consolidation of new topics such as wireless and mobile computing??

Oh ok, see what you mean.

I think I have a comparison spreadsheet somewhere. If you e-mail me I'll see if I can dig it out for you.
